The event will feature a screening of The People Shall, a documentary about Kenya’s Gen Z protest movement. The screening will be followed by a remote Q&A session with the director. In addition, two researchers will give presentations on popular movements and democracy in Kenya and Tanzania.

The event highlights shifts in development policy and geopolitics that are reflected in bottom-up movements. These movements call for systemic change at both the local and international levels.

The event is open for all and no registration needed.
